The Story of the Fashanne Awards

The Student Fashion Awards in the East Midlands

Fashanne is the Fashion Awards for East Midlands Students. Involving hundreds of 3rd year students from 6 Universities, these are the second Fashion and Design Awards. Finalists will display their collections in a two day exhibition before the Awards night.

A Cash Prize of up to £1,000

The students’ exhibits will be judged by a panel of fashion, style, film and media experts. There are four main awards with a cash prize of £1,000 each in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Textile Design and Footwear & Accessory Design, and a one-off Peoples vote taken from the results of the exhibition. Fashanne 2017 at St Mary’s Church in Nottingham was a huge success, featured on the BBC and our inaugural event in 2016 at Belvoir Castle was featured in Tatler and on the BBC.

Academy running alongside awards

An academy is also being set up in conjunction with the awards to include winners, academics and industry leaders to provide a hub of talent to help promote the fashion and design industry and advise the next generation.

Unbelievably, FASHANNE, The East Midlands Student Fashion Awards 2018 looks like being even more fabulous than it was last year . We didn’t think it could get much better when Tatler likened us to Dior in 2016 and with the fantastic Gok Wan as our lead judge in 2017, yet Fashanne 2018 promises to be even better!

Championing the next generation is our raison d’etre and we are able to provide a unique opportunity to view the extraordinary talent of students across the East Midlands under one roof – something that has never been done before.

With more award categories including a People’s Choice Award that everyone can be involved in, it is our goal to not only provide a platform for up and coming designers but also to enable as many people as possible to see what they have to offer.

Be a part of the Fashanne Awards 2018, it promises to be a night to remember!
